This original sculpture was made using a collection of leaves, flowers and seedpods from my own garden. The Dryad is essentially a self portrait, that resonates with all women who love to be active and outdoors. She represents a free, feminine, nature spirit, deeply connected with earth and dancing with the joys and abundance of life. The natural materials add texture and form to the piece with clearly recognisable plant shapes seen in the surface work. Unique patination of each cast, and variations in the construction of the complex open work, make this a highly collectable and valuable artwork.
